Hans van Bokhoven member of CCMO
Hans van Bokhoven has been elected per 1st. May 2012 member of the Central Committee on Research Involving Human Subjects (CCMO) by Minister Schippers. The CCMO protects subjects taking part in medical research by reviewing the research on the basis of the statutory provisions laid down for them and taking account of the interests of medical progress. The Committee has a maximum of fourteen members plus their deputies. In accordance with Article 14 of the WMO it must always include one or more physicians, and experts in embryology, pharmacology, nursing science, behavioural science, jurisprudence, the methodology of scientific research and ethics, as well as a member who reviews research specifically from the subject's point of view. The committee also has a molecular geneticist and a hospital pharmacist among its members. All members and deputy members of the CCMO are proposed by the Minister of Health, Welfare and Sport and appointed by royal decree. Members and deputies are appointed for a maximum term of four years and can be reappointed up to two times.
